Rosa DeLauro is the U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut's third congressional district. Representative DeLauro serves in the Democratic leadership as Co-Chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, and she is the Chair of the Labor, Health and Human Services, and the Education Appropriations Subcommittee, where she oversees the nation’s investments in education, health, and employment. Representative DeLauro also serves as a senior Democrat on the subcommittee responsible for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration—where she oversees food and drug safety—and on the House Budget Committee.

Jacob Hacker is the Stanley Resor Professor of Political Science and Director of the Institution for Social and Policy Studies at Yale University. Professor Hacker is known for his research and writings regarding health policy, especially his development of the so-called public option. A regular media commentator and policy adviser, he is the author or co-author of five books, numerous journal articles, and a wide range of popular writings on American politics and public policy. His most recent book, written with Paul Pierson, is American Amnesia: How the War on Government Led Us to Forget What Made America Prosper. Previously, the two wrote the New York Times bestseller Winner-Take-All Politics: How Washington Made the Rich Richer and Turned Its Back on the Middle Class.

Allison Hoffman is a Visiting Professor of Law and Oscar M. Ruebhausen Distinguished Senior Fellow, as well as a Professor of Law at University of Pennsylvania Law School and a senior fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. Hoffman’s work examines some of the most important legal and social issues of our time, including health insurance regulation, the Affordable Care Act, Medicare and retiree healthcare expenses, and Medicaid and long-term care.
