Chelsea comes from Chicago, where she grew up eating real pizza. She has a B.A. in History and Science from Harvard, where she wrote her thesis on psychopharmaceutical marketing, family, and citizenship in Cold War America. She also holds a certificate in Museum Studies from Northwestern. She has worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses in medical sociology and evolutionary biology, a Humanist community organizer, a science museum educator, and a cook at a feminist vegetarian restaurant-cum-bookstore. Her current research project is on the history of animal welfare science. She serves on the Yale Humanist Community’s board of directors and is a proud member of Yale’s curling team.
