DESCRIPTION:Target Audience Specialties - Cardiovascular Disease Overview
The Yale Women’s Heart Symposium is a one-day\, multidisciplinary program
delivering evidence-based updates in cardiovascular care for women. Nati
onal experts will translate emerging research and new guidelines into pra
ctical strategies across outpatient\, interventional\, surgical\, and cri
tical care—addressing sex-specific presentations and underrecognized cond
itions. Designed for clinicians in all practice settings\, the symposium
features concise lectures\, case discussions\, and expert panels to help
close care gaps and improve outcomes for women with cardiovascular diseas
 e. Educational sessions will cover topics across the continuum of cardiov
ascular care\, including coronary and valvular disease\, heart failure\,
 electrophysiology\, cardio-oncology\, peripheral vascular disease\, and s
tructural heart interventions. The program is ideal for cardiologists\, i
nternists\, primary care physicians\, surgeons\, advanced practice provid
ers\, and allied health professionals. Objectives Differentiate tradition
al and non-traditional cardiovascular risk factors in women across the li
fespan. Apply sex-specific considerations to the evaluation and managemen
t of ischemic heart disease\, including INOCA and SCAD. Evaluate strategi
es for complex coronary artery disease in women\, including calcium modif
 ication\, acute myocardial infarction/cardiogenic shock\, and high-risk p
ercutaneous coronary intervention. Optimize heart failure care in women\,
including during pregnancy and in cases of cardiac amyloidosis. Integrat
e 2024–2025 guideline updates and emerging evidence in cardio-oncology\,
electrophysiology\, and structural heart disease into clinical practice.
Implement at least two strategies to improve inclusive research and incre
ase women’s representation in cardiovascular clinical trials. Please visi
