Yale Ophthalmology Expands Pediatric Optometry with Addition of Dr. Nouralison Abdella

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Nouralison Abdella, OD will be joining the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at Yale as a Pediatric Optometrist, effective January 1, 2026.

Dr. Abdella will practice within the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital Pediatric Specialty Centers in Norwalk and Greenwich, where she will support Pediatric Ophthalmology in providing comprehensive optometric care to children and adolescents.

Dr. Abdella earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry, where she also completed a residency in Pediatric Optometry at the University Eye Center and NYC Health and Hospitals Woodhull. Her clinical background includes extensive experience caring for pediatric and neurodivergent patient populations, managing myopia progression, and diagnosing and treating a wide range of ocular diseases.

She is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and has received multiple honors for her excellence in patient care and academic achievement, including the Good-Lite Pediatric Award for Excellence in Pediatric Optometry and the Eschenbach Award for Excellence in Low Vision. Dr. Abdella is also an active member of the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association.
