Seemal R. Desai, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist; clinical associate professor of dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center; and founder and medical director of Innovative Dermatology in Dallas, Texas. An internationally recognized expert in pigmentary disorders and skin of color, his clinical and research interests include vitiligo, melasma, hyperpigmentation, psoriasis, and medical dermatology. Desai serves as president of the Global Vitiligo Foundation and is the immediate past president of the American Academy of Dermatology, where he was the youngest president in the Academy's history and its first president of Indian origin. He is a past president of the Skin of Color Society, Texas Dermatological Society, and Dallas-Fort Worth Dermatological Society. Desai has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, lectures extensively around the world, and is committed to advancing patient care, education, leadership, and global collaboration in dermatology.
