DESCRIPTION:At Yale New Haven Children's Hospital's Yale Pediatric Diabete
 s Clinic\, we know diabetes research is incredibly important. We have the
  privilege of being involved with the care of many families managing this
  chronic medical condition on a daily basis. While our families do an ama
 zing job\, we recognize the burden caused by having to continually monito
 r sugar levels and adjust insulin doses to achieve our glucose targets. T
 his motivates us to conduct cutting edge research to create better treatm
 ents and technologies for diabetes care. With less federal support of res
 earch studies\, the need is ever growing for foundations to allow researc
 hers to continue their efforts. Since its inception\, Breakthrough T1D (f
 ormerly JDRF) has provided more than $2.5 billion for research\, with our
  team at Yale receiving grants that support our groundbreaking work. Our 
 work extends from the initial studies of insulin pump therapy in late 197
 0s to approval of the first disease modifying therapy. Our mission aligns
  closely with that of Breakthrough T1D\, as we are committed to "Accelera
 ting life-changing breakthroughs to cure\, prevent\, and treat type 1 dia
 betes and its complications." That is why we are hoping you will join our
  team or support our efforts on Saturday\, Oct. 3 at the Breakthrough T1D
  Walk at Old Grove Park in West Haven\, CT. Together we can support the n
 ext innovations in care to make living with diabetes better today\, while
