This session will be a hands-on workshop using R tidyverse packages such as dplyr and tidyr in order to merge, reshape, filter, and otherwise transform tabular datasets. One of the sample datasets we will be using is the MIMIC-III Clinical Database Demo, which is a large, freely-available database comprising deidentified health-related data associated with over 40,000 patients who stayed in critical care units of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center between 2001 and 2012. This dataset is available for download here: https://physionet.org/content/mimiciii-demo/1.4/.

* Install RStudio (recommended)

* Download the MIMIC-III Clinical Database Demo downloaded to your machine.

* Run the scripts install the tidyverse and reshape2 packages if you have not done so previously
