Cardiovascular Medicine Presents: "6th Annual Update on Interventional Cardiology"

8.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits(TM)

The landscape of medicine is constantly changing, and for the past 40 years, interventional radiologists have been responsible for much of the medical innovation and development of minimally invasive procedures to treat disease. While no treatment is risk free, the risks of interventional procedures are far lower than the risks of open surgery, and are a major advance in medicine for patients. Ongoing educational interventions are essential for practicing clinicians to stay abreast of this rapidly changing area of cardiology, particularly as it relates to differences associated with gender and ethnicity.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
This course will enable participants to:
  • Utilize advances in interventional cardiology to identify suitable strategies and achieve successful outcomes for women undergoing PCI procedures
  • Describe advances in management and gender-specific differences in patients with stenotic aortic valve disease and heart rhythm disturbances
  • Keep up-to-date on advances in clinical research particularly relating to outcomes associated with women, the elderly and minorities
  • Apply the latest tools in improving the management of cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, renovascular disease and aortic disease particularly in women
