Policy and Public Health

Prevention of injuries, substance use disorders and other health problems require primary, secondary and tertiary prevention strategies. Policy analysis and policy change are critical pieces of these efforts that are being studied. In addition to policy, research is being developed related to public health systems and services, as well as public health preparedness.

Injury Prevention and Intervention

Clinical and community-based injury prevention strategies are critical in decreasing morbidity and mortality from injury, which is the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 1 and 34. Our work in this area encompasses environmental strategies to prevent injury, as well as collaborations on the evaluation of clinical interventions to decrease injury morbidity and mortality.
