Committee for Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice
The Yale School of Medicine Committee for Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice (CDISJ) is comprised of students, faculty, and members of the administration. CDISJ was established at the start of 2016 in direct response to the demands submitted by Next YSM.
The mission of the Committee for Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice at the Yale School of Medicine is to establish sustainable reforms that increase diversity among trainees and faculty; to foster an inclusive environment that fully values all members of the YSM; to enhance training on issues of health inequity; and to advance social justice within YSM and in our broader community.
The CDISJ meets monthly to develop concrete steps related to the following:
- Education and Research
- Student Admissions and Faculty Recruitment
- Student Support and Wellbeing
- Anti-oppression Training, Bias Reporting, and Transparency
- Physical Environment
