Biography

Regina Hooley MD is Professor & Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at the Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Hooley’s area of medical expertise includes all aspects of breast imaging and direct patient care, including screening and breast interventional procedures.

When Connecticut passed the nation’s first breast density inform law, she published early research regarding breast density and supplemental screening ultrasound. Her current research interests include novel screening techniques. Dr. Hooley is a fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging and has many publications, including scientific manuscripts, review articles, and book chapters. She contributes to the popular radiology educational series, StatDx and is an associate editor for Radiology. Her activities includes serving as is an advisory board member of National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers and the popular educational website DenseBreasts-info. She has been a featured guest for the NYTimes, CBS News, and WNPR. In her free time, she and her husband enjoy spending time being active outdoors, while keeping up with their four sons and two dogs.
