Research Summary

Dr. Durand is a breast imaging subspecialist with a primary research role focused on breast cancer screening and diagnosis with Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT). She is the recipient of several industry grants and serves as the Yale principal investigator of a multisite collaborative DBT research group that has co-authored several landmark papers on DBT. She was also the recipient of a Lion Heart Pilot grant to evaluate the clinical performance of synthesized mammography, a form of DBT that reduces radiation rates by almost 50%. Dr. Durand has presented her work at international, national and regional conferences and collaborated on several scientific manuscripts, review articles, and book chapters. Presently she is expanding her involvement in global outreach with Rad-Aid as the breast imaging lead for Ghana.
