Research Summary
As a clinician taking care of a large number of prostate cancer patients at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS) I was struck by many men who had had excellent response to androgen deprivation but expressed their frustration about self-perceived cognitive decline and decreased mental acuity. This prompted me to study the impact of androgen deprivation on cognitive function.
Another focus of my research efforts is leading the Oncology clinical trials program at VACHS. I would like to provide veterans with a cancer diagnosis the same access to cutting-edge Oncology clinical trials as non-veterans.
