Dr. Martinello's major research interests include the molecular epidemiology and the transmission of respiratory viruses; specifically respiratory syncytial virus and influenza. In addition, Dr. Martinello is interested in the epidemiology, impact and prevention of healthcare associated infections including ventilator associated pneumonia, methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Clolstridium difficile.
