Five researchers from the Yale School of Medicine have received grants from Discovery to Cure, a program at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences that advances the prevention, early detection, and treatment of women’s reproductive cancers such as ovarian, uterine, cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers.
The researchers are Dr. Ayesha Alvero, research scientist in obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences; Dr. Yingqun Huang, associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences; Dr. Elena Ratner, assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences; Dr. Alessandro Santin, professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences; and Xiao Xu, assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences.
Each of the investigators discussed their research projects at a reception to honor supporters of Discovery to Cure held at the School of Medicine on July 20. Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) hosted nearly 100 guests at the reception. Guests included cancer survivors, philanthropists, doctors, and Discovery to Cure’s corporate sponsors and major donors.
