March 18, 2020
by Paul Rivers

Please be aware of new phishing scams attempting to take advantage of COVID-19 uncertainty. Our peer institutions have reported an increase in phony messages using COVID-19 themes to grab attention.

In anticipation of these types of messages attempting to take advantage of individuals at Yale, we ask that you alert faculty, students, and staff in your area about the increased likelihood of phishing scams related to COVID-19.

To help spread the word, please forward this email and print the COVID-19 Phishing Awareness Alert flyer to post in high-traffic areas. You can access this flyer by copying and pasting the following into your browser:

We also ask that everyone report suspicious email messages by visiting to share with others when a new phishing attempt arises to help protect personal information and Yale’s data.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding a suspicious email, please call the ITS Help Desk at 203-432-9000.

Thank you for helping spread the word. We appreciate your attention to this matter, and for all you do to keep Yale secure.
