Steven Girvin

Professor Girvin has long-standing connections and collaborations with colleagues in the condensed matter physics departments of Chalmers University in Goteborg (Gothenburg) and KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm.

The goal of this project is to understand, using experiments and theoretical calculations, how quantum mechanics can manifest itself in large mechanical oscillators, particularly in their interaction with light.
