Biography
Krista Smith (she/her/hers) is a postgraduate associate at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence working on the SELOC-ES project. Krista holds a B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in International Studies (specialization in Latin America and the Caribbean) with minors in International Development/Humanitarian Assistance and Leadership from the University of Florida. Krista also completed her Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Special Education from the Relay Graduate School of Education while serving as a high school Special Education teacher with Teach for America in South Side Chicago.
As a result of interdisciplinary studies and experiences, Krista is interested in the development of emotional intelligence as a tool for pursuing equity, and how adversity exposure influences emotion regulation throughout the lifespan.
