Biography

Charlene Voyce, MPH, is the Director of Out-of-School Time Initiatives at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. She received her AB from Duke University and her MPH in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She began her work in the field of Social and Emotional Learning as a special education teacher. While at Yale, she has served as project director for a series of studies on the impact of school-based social and emotional learning programming on a variety of health, behavior, and academic outcomes. Currently, she focuses on professional development for youth professionals and adapting RULER to out-of-school time settings, including recess and summer- and after-school programming. Outside of her work at the Center, she is an advocate for individuals with disabilities in medical, school, and workforce settings.
