Though it has felt like a slow beginning with fits and starts of warmer weather this year, the sights and sounds of spring have at last been evident in Connecticut over the last few weeks. I do hope that those of you who celebrate the various holidays of this season have enjoyed gatherings with family and friends – and indeed that everyone has been able to be with loved ones and in community over these past weeks.
As ever, YCSC community members have been quite busy continuing the important, mission-driven work of the department. Some highlights of this work are included below. It is hard to believe that there are only about nine weeks remaining in the current academic year – and as we plan and look forward to several year-end events and celebrations, I would also like to highlight Administrative Professionals' Day, celebrated tomorrow, on April 23 this year.
We have many wonderful administrative staff in our department, and I am very much looking forward to welcoming a new member of this group, filling the new chief of staff position for the chair's office in May. An official announcement will be shared soon, and this new staff member will be introduced next month.
As always, my gratitude goes out to all in our community, including those who support our work in a variety of ways, for all you do to improve the lives of families and children.
