VA Connecticut Healthcare System seeks candidate for Chief Resident in Quality and Safety for Psychiatry

The VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS) is excited to announce an unexpected opening in the Chief Resident in Quality and Safety (CRQS) for Psychiatry starting July 1, 2017.

This position is a PGY 5 level placement at VACHS with an emphasis on Administrative Psychiatry focusing on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. The focus will be on understanding systems of care and how they contribute to the mental health and recovery of veterans, the delivery of mental health services and the science of patient safety.

The CRQS will be able to have 25% clinical time in the area of his/her primary interest as well as be able to participate in many and varied administrative duties.

There will be a major emphasis on getting in on the ground floor of the emerging “field of improvement science” as well as developing a quality improvement project and contributing to the VA’s Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Curriculum on a national level.

The salary for this PGY5 position is extremely competitive.
