Lorraine Siggins, MD, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, and Dolores Vojvoda, MD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, have been chosen to receive the 2018-19 Irma Bland Award for outstanding and sustained contributions to resident education.

The competitive award is sponsored by the American Psychiatric Association (APA). It recognizes APA members who have taught at their nominating institution for at least three years.

She is a past interim director of Yale Health and has been clinical professor of psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine since 1990.

Siggins will retire from Yale in June 2019. She has published widely and is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Yale Department of Psychiatry’s Stephen Fleck Award, which honors a faculty member who demonstrates the highest standards of a clinician and educator.

Vojvoda is a board certified psychiatrist with affiliations at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven.
