Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) is currently accepting applications for a year-long psychology practicum training program for doctoral students in clinical or school psychology. The submission deadline for the upcoming academic year is Feb. 1, 2026.

The practicum will begin on July 1, 2026, and continue through June 3, 2027. Training is provided within one of the following designated tracks, supervised by a fully licensed psychologist.

  • Child and adolescent outpatient psychotherapy
  • Developmental disabilities assessment and therapy
  • Early childhood evaluation and treatment
  • Emotion and systems neuroscience
  • Pediatric neuropsychological assessment
  • Pediatric psychology

Practicum students commit 10–15 hours per week to clinical care, with some flexibility around scheduling to accommodate clients and their families, including one or two evenings each week. Requirements to apply include enrollment in an accredited clinical or school psychology doctoral program with good academic standing and completion of at least two years of graduate work.

Interviews take place on a rolling basis each year, between November and February, and final decisions are typically made by mid-March. Additional details and application instructions are available on the YCSC website, and questions can be sent via e-mail to Jessica Mayo, PhD.
