DESCRIPTION:As a follow-up to their February 2026 YCSC grand rounds sessio
 n\, Charles (Chaz) Warner and David Jon Walker will return and be joined 
 by Michael Morand\, ’87 ’93 M.Div.\, the director of community engagement
  at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. The trio will discuss 
 the history of plans to establish America's first "college for colored yo
 uth" in the city of New Haven in 1831. Warner serves as a community engag
 ement program manager at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at
  Yale\, and Walker is an art director\, type designer\, activist\, and pr
 ofessor at Yale School of Art and Tennessee State University. Yale Child 
 Study Center (YCSC) grand rounds sessions are typically presented in the 
 Cohen Auditorium at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays from September through June\, w
 ith a live stream available via Zoom. Internal participants are encourage
 d to attend sessions in person. Most recordings are posted internally via
  YCSC Internal Announcements on SharePoint within a few days\, and select
  session recordings are available on the YCSC grand rounds website . Comp
