DESCRIPTION:Session Description Disruption of brain circuits is associated
  with increased vulnerability to neuropsychiatric disorders and intellect
 ual disability. Advances in genetics have identified hundreds of genetic 
 risk factors for cognitive dysfunction and psychiatric disorders. This le
 cture provides a framework to directly linking genetic risk factors to ci
 rcuit dysfunction. The learning objectives are for participants to be abl
 e to: Describe the circuits involved in higher order cognition Understand
  the developmental mechanisms underlying synaptic specificity Understand 
 how mutations can disrupt the development of cognitive circuits Continuin
 g Education YCSC Grand Rounds are reviewed for eligibility for Continuing
  Medical Education (CME) credits on an annual basis and most lecture-styl
 e sessions are approved for the year. Yale School of Medicine is accredit
 ed by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) 
 to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Individual event 
 designation details are provided at applicable live events. YCSC grand ro
 unds sessions are typically presented in the Cohen Auditorium at 1 p.m. o
 n Tuesdays from September through June\, with a live stream available via
  Zoom. Internal participants are encouraged to attend sessions in person.
  Most recordings are posted internally via YCSC Internal Announcements on
  SharePoint within a few days\, and select session recordings are availab
 le on the YCSC grand rounds website . Compassionate Care Rounds are not r
