DESCRIPTION:Session Description Leading boldly can mean different things a
nd can take different forms. In the case of Jacob Padrón\, MFA\, it means
stewarding a plan that has as many supporters as it does opposers and re
quires bravery\, creativity\, support\, and faith. Padrón serves as artis
tic director for Long Wharf Theater\, a beloved institution of the arts s
cene and culture of New Haven. In this session\, he will share insights i
nto his own leadership journey\, what led to proposing and stewarding bol
d options that move away from “the way we always have done it” to forge a
new path\, and the added scrutiny that some leaders experience in certai
n spaces. The objectives for this session are to learn about: The rewards
and challenges of forging new paths The potential benefits of looking be
yond traditional measures of success Strategies for remaining true to you
r own values and leadership paradigms in the face of scrutiny Please note
that continuing education (CMEs or CECs) will not be available for this
session\, and it will not be recorded. YCSC Grand Rounds sessions are typ

low-income Latino/a immigrant families in partnership with Latino Health
Access\, a community health agency in Orange County\, and will present t
he results of an effectiveness trial in which promotores de salud deliver
ed a co-developed version of the intervention to community members. Final

DESCRIPTION:Session Description Suicide is one of the leading causes of de
ath in adolescents and young adults in the United States. One challenge i
n addressing youth suicide is that suicidal thoughts and behaviors are no
toriously difficult to predict and prevent. In this talk\, Christina Cha\
, Phd\, will delve into the cognitive-affective profile of suicidal youth
to better understand who is (vs. is not) at risk. She will share recent
research advances that uncover how suicidal youth understand and view dea
th\, and importantly\, how they perceive their continued future life. The
talk will conclude with examples of how cognitive-affective mechanisms i
dentified in earlier work may be promising intervention targets to help m
itigate risk early in life. Learning objectives for this session are for
participants to be able to: Gain knowledge about the epidemiology of suic
ide and self-harm Be able to identify psychological risk and protective f
actors for suicide in youth Understand how research advances addressing y
outh suicide can benefit clinical care Continuing Education This session

DESCRIPTION:Session Description Algorithms encode the biases of their crea
tors\, and also the biases of society in general. How do we confront this
reality and simultaneously harness the enormous possibilities of AI? How
can we hold algorithms accountable? In this talk\, New York University P

only to recognize lighter skin tones and the dangerous feedback loops tha
t arise when medical diagnostic algorithms are fed on discriminatory data

DESCRIPTION:As careers in healthcare and research become increasingly dema

f-management is more crucial than ever. In this lecture\, Catherine Sandl
er\, PhD\, one of the United Kingdom's most experienced executive coaches
\, will share her Emotional Profiles Triangle™ which will soon be publish

in this schema has different strengths and vulnerabilities\; they also ha
