Current trends reflect dramatic increases in mood disorders, anxiety and suicidal ideation among youth in the United States. Treatment as usual does not seem to be working. Complimentary, alternative approaches, such as Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare (OBH) help address this crisis. OBH involves the prescription use of outdoor adventure experiences, provided by mental health professions, that kinesthetically engages clients on cognitive, affective, behavioral and somatic levels.
