Application Process

Thank you for your interest in our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training Program. You may apply through ERAS starting July 15, 2018 with  an application deadline of September 21, 2018

Please complete/upload the following to the  ERAS application

  • Complete the Application Forms in ERAS
  • Complete an updated Curriculum Vita. Describe any lapses of more than one month in training, if applicable. 
  • Request a minimum of three letters of reference (including Program Director) and Medical School Program Evaluation/Dean's Letter.
  • Complete the Personal Statement describing your interest in child and adolescent psychiatry and plans for future professional work. This Statement should not be more than 1,000 words.
  • Have the CAP Residency ABPN eligibility form completed by your Program Director and uploaded directly into your ERAS application under the LOR section.
  • Complete the Attestations page and send directly to the CAP Program Coordinator, Tanya Colon (tanya.colon@yale.edu)

Interview Process

We begin our fellowship interviews in mid-September and continue through mid-November. Your interviews at Yale will include two different fellowship training tracks: our State of Connecticut Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center, South Campus or “Solnit South Track”; and our Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital or “New Haven Track”.  The two tracks have different Match numbers and we will split up your interview day so you will have the ability to get a closer look at each program.  We will contact you via ERAS to schedule an interview after reviewing your application.

Applicants are encouraged to attend the interview dinner held at a local New Haven restaurant on the Sunday night, before your first interview day.  This will give you an opportunity to mingle with current Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellows and get a better feel for the program.

What to Expect

2018 Interview Dates: September 17, 24; October 1, 15, 29; November 5, 12

If driving - Please park in the Air Rights Garage, located at 60 York Street and bring your parking ticket with you for validation.  Walk across the street to the Child Study Center, located at 230 South Frontage Rd.  After lunch, we will depart up to Middletown for your Solnit South visit.  It's your option to drive or follow us up to Middletown.  Once the interviews have concluded at Solnit South, you can ride back to New Haven or use a car share/taxi service to bring you to the airport or other destination.  (A car is not required for your interview visit.)
