Mobile medical clinic
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Liz Znamierowski runs the Mother and Infant Mobile Clinic based out of the storefront at 270 Congress Avenue. Launched by Dr. Leslie Sude in 2020, the Mother and Infant program brought care to mothers and newborns in New Haven during the COVID-19 pandemic and revealed that there was enough community need to continue its services beyond the pandemic. In partnership with American Medical Response, the Mother and Infant Mobile Clinic utilizes a retrofitted ambulance to provide dyadic healthcare curbside to patients’ residences.

Yale School of Medicine Community Health Care Van; Mother Infant Program (MIP) – New Haven, CT Program/Focus: Mobile Van (Community Healthcare Van- CHCV), CHCV Mother Infant Program, Curbside Postpartum Care Curbside Postpartum Care, a program that uses mobile support and evidence-based data to address priority health needs, including behavioral health services, screening for postpartum depression and substance use disorder, and connecting patients to treatment and care, increased program accessibility and doubled the number of referrals made to behavioral health and healthcare services for women at risk for postpartum depression or hypertension.

36 Refugees Vaccinated At Hill Clinic
On Saturday, in a small park to the side of the Yale Physicians Building, bubbles and pizza welcomed local refugee families as part of a Covid-19 vaccination pop-up. The small-scale vaccination clinic was set up by Yale Community Healthcare and Elena’s Light, an organization that seeks to help refugee women and children. Thirty-six people received vaccines at the clinic.

Vaccine Outreach Crew Hits The Hill
Mayor Justin Elicker stopped at 486 Howard Ave. to pitch neighbors on getting their Covid-19 vaccines. He received another pitch in return — for a giant, freshly-caught fish. That interaction took place Saturday as around 20 canvassers joined the mayor and trekked around the Hill in the city’s latest push to get residents vaccinated.

At Yale New Haven Hospital each month, hundreds of babies are born to low-income families. “The economic impact on families to just get a simple weight check or blood pressure check is enormous,” says Dr. Leslie Sude, a pediatrics doctor at the hospital.
