The Yale School of Medicine (YSM) and Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI) recently hosted two community engagement events designed to strengthen connections between Yale and the communities it serves while sharing the newly developed Yale School of Medicine Strategic Plan.
The events were organized in response to feedback collected during a series of community focus groups held in fall 2025. During those conversations, community members emphasized the importance of having greater access to Yale programs, services, health information, and educational resources. Participants expressed a desire for more opportunities to engage with Yale and learn about resources available to support the health and well-being of individuals and families throughout the region.
In response, Yale School of Medicine in partnership with YCCI invited community members, focus group participants, and selected Yale partners to come together for an evening of learning, conversation, and resource sharing. The events provided attendees with an opportunity to learn about the YSM Strategic Plan and see how community feedback helped shape its priorities and goals.
Representatives from Yale departments, programs, and community-focused initiatives hosted resource tables and shared information about services, educational opportunities, research programs, and wellness resources available to the public. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with Yale faculty and staff, ask questions, receive informational materials, and learn about opportunities for future involvement.
The gatherings reflected Yale School of Medicine's ongoing commitment to community engagement and its dedication to building meaningful partnerships with the communities it serves. By creating spaces for dialogue and connection, Yale continues to ensure that community voices remain central to its mission and future direction.
