For Students & Interns
The Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI) is committed to providing diverse learning and experiential opportunities for individuals exploring careers in clinical and translational research. Through a range of programs, YCCI supports students from high school through the post-baccalaureate level in gaining meaningful experience across disciplines such as public health, nursing, biomedical science, and research administration.
Participants learn through a combination of hands-on and classroom-based learning, guided by experienced research professionals and faculty mentors. These programs are designed to build core competencies aligned with each student’s academic and professional interests, while fostering curiosity, confidence, and a sense of belonging in the research community.
Together, these experiences reflect YCCI’s commitment to fostering talent from varied backgrounds and preparing the next generation of leaders in clinical and translational science.
Exposures Program
A summer research experience introducing high school, undergraduate, and professional students to the fundamentals of clinical and translational research. Through seminars, mentorship, and direct involvement in active projects, participants gain insight into research methods and the pathways leading to careers in science and medicine.
Post Baccalaureate Internship
A one-year, full-time research internship for recent college graduates who plan to apply to graduate or medical school and are considering careers in health care or research. Interns work closely with experienced translational and clinical research faculty, administrators, and staff—participating in all stages of the research process and developing skills in study coordination, data analysis, and scientific communication.
Yale Summer Enrichment Research Experience
An intensive summer research program for undergraduate students currently enrolled in accredited degree-granting institutions outside of Yale. Participants conduct mentored biomedical research, develop technical and analytical skills, and engage in professional development activities.
