Yale Cell Biology Seminar Series: “Biological phase separation between reality and fiction”

Dr. Musacchio will discuss general mechanisms of cellular compartmentalisation, focusing on the popular idea that liquid-liquid phase separation is a major driver of compartment assembly. He will analyze this idea and explain why he believes that in most cases it is unlikely to provide a satisfactory explanation of compartmentalisation.
