Genetics Department Seminar Series: "mRNA Structural Dynamics Shape Argonaute-target Interactions"

Using live-cell single-molecule microscopy the kinetics of mRNA cleavage by AGO2/siRNA complexes are determine. This work reveals that mRNA structure is an important regulator of AGO2/siRNA-target interactions, and that translating ribosomes unfold mRNA structure to stimulate AGO2-target interactions.
