The following funding resources are available to YBII members. Please see our intranet for more details about each opportunity and when they are available.

YBII offers funding for bold exploratory imaging or secondary image data-analysis projects that foster cross-department collaborations with high potential health impact. Calls run in fall and spring (award amounts vary). Projects should address new topics and/or generate preliminary data for grants, and require a co-PI from a different department; priority goes to cross-department and cross-modality studies (e.g., brain, heart, cancer, inflammation, behavioral health, data science).

This program offers rapid, low-burden access to a small number of MRI sessions to generate feasibility/preliminary data (e.g., effect sizes, figures) for competitive external grant submissions. It is for investigators ready to start collecting limited data now and aims to accelerate translation into external funding. Studies at an earlier stage or larger studies should use the YBII Exploratory Studies mechanism.

YBII has highly competitive funding opportunities available for exceptionally qualified and motivated postdoctoral associates for one year of support. Both Faculty Mentor(s) and Postdoctoral Associate should be committed to the mission of YBII and to collaborative imaging research. Funding is available to cover postdoc salary and fringe; additional funds in support of training-related activities may also be available. Funding is available to US citizens, permanent residents, and international applicants.

The Computational Molecular & Functional Imaging Training (CMFIT) Program has highly competitive funding opportunities available for exceptionally qualified and motivated predoctoral students up to 2 years of support; students should be in years 2+ of their graduate studies and currently lack support. Both Faculty Mentor(s) and Predoctoral Student should be committed to the mission of the CMFIT program and to collaborative research. Funding is available to cover student stipend and tuition, along with a modest budget for travel and other training-related expenses. Funding is available to current Yale students who are US citizens, permanent residents, and international applicants.
