How Trainees Apply to the Program in Cellular, Molecular, and Quantitative Biology

Graduate student trainees are invited to apply formally to the CMQBTP at the end of their first year in graduate school at Yale University. They apply after being admitted to one of two tracks in the Combined Program in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS), Biochemistry, Quantitative Biology, Biophysics and Structural Biology (BQBS) or Molecular Cell Biology, Genetics & Development (MCGD) in their first year. Usually, they elect to affiliate and carry out their Ph.D. work in one of these four degree-granting departments by the end of year 1: Cell Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry, or Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. Graduate students are sponsored by the CMQBTP for years 2 and 3 after which they remain involved in CMQBTP activities until graduation.
