    Hsieh and Shulman Lauded for Their Work as Mentors

    The Fund for Physician-Scientist Mentorship at Yale School of Medicine honored two faculty members during the Janeway Society Retreat in May for their work supporting early career physician-scientists and helping to advance their career development.

    Evelyn Hsieh, MD, PhD, associate professor of medicine (rheumatology, allergy & immunology), received the inaugural mid-career faculty award from the fund, which was created in 2023.

    Gerald I. Shulman, MD, PhD, George R. Cowgill Professor of Medicine (Endocrinology), professor of cellular and molecular physiology, and co-director of the Yale Diabetes Research Center, received the senior faculty award and delivered the Fund for Physician-Scientist Senior Career Mentorship Lecture, “Reflections on Research and Mentoring.”
