Nelson LaMarche, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and member of the Yale Cancer Biology Institute and Yale Cancer Center, has been presented with a 2026 Breaking Barriers in Cancer Research Award by the V Foundation for Cancer Research, a top-rated cancer research charity. By investing in promising early-career and translational researchers, the Breaking Barriers initiative helps accelerate the journey from laboratory discovery to early-phase clinical trials. LaMarche will receive $800,000 over four years to support his research on rare cells known as basophils and their role in the development of cancer.
