Dr. Kyriakides completed a PhD at Washington State University in 1993. He did a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington. His lab at Yale studies the foreign body response to biomaterials and nanomaterials. In addition, Dr. Kyriakides studies nanomaterials and cell interactions with a focus on biosensing. Finally, ongoing efforts in the lab include engineering of tissue constructs and novel hydrogels to stimulate healing in mouse models of diabetes. He is Director of Graduate Studies for the Experimental Pathology PhD program. He also serves as a mentor for students from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
