The Anesthesia department hosted an all day Introductory Orientation Day for the new CA1 Residents. The orientation, titled Procedural Training for Central Venous Line Placement, took place on July 3rd at the Yale Center for Medical Simulation. This Introductory Orientation day focused on getting CA1 residents comfortable with basic tasks such as IV, A-line, Airway intubations, Central line placements with ultrasound as well as landmark techniques and GA induction sequence through scenarios. The residents also were introduced to sterile gowning and gloving techniques. This workshop is conducted before residents hit the OR and facilitates their performance in the high-stress environment of the operating rooms.
