MD Class of 2021 Selects Associate Professor Onyema Ogbuagu as Commencement Speaker

The Yale School of Medicine (YSM) MD Class of 2021 has selected Associate Professor of Medicine Onyema Ogbuagu, MBBCh, as its speaker for Commencement. Ogbuagu is director of the Yale AIDS Program HIV clinical trials program. He educates and trains medical students, residents, and infectious diseases fellows at YSM, and is active in medical education and research initiatives in Rwanda and Liberia. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he became principal investigator of the adult and pediatric Pfizer-BioNTech and Remdesivir clinical trials at YSM that were supported by the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation.

Only graduates, deans, and faculty advisors can attend Commencement in person because of COVID-19 restrictions. However, everyone is welcome to watch the livestream of the ceremony at 10:00 am on May 24 at the following link: https://ysm.commencementreimagined.com/.
