2 Minute Read

S. Yin Ho, MD ’96, MBA, has spent over two decades at the forefront of health information technology, clinical research, and digital health innovation. A physician-turned-entrepreneur, Ho began her career in emergency medicine after completing her medical training at Yale and earning an MBA from Harvard Business School. Her transition from clinical practice to technology leadership has shaped some of the most influential platforms in healthcare data and analytics.

Ho’s career includes roles at Pfizer, where she led the eHealth strategy; Medidata, where she helped guide the company through its IPO; and Aetion, where she served as Chief Strategy and Product Officer. She founded Context Matters, a pioneering health economics data analytics firm that was later acquired by Clarivate Analytics. Most recently, she served as interim CEO of Veradigm, where she spearheaded the acquisition of ScienceIO to integrate generative AI into electronic health records for clinical research.

In addition to her executive leadership, Ho is a passionate advocate for ethical AI development in medicine. She coined the term “AI Humanist” to emphasize the importance of integrating artificial intelligence in ways that enhance human care and preserve dignity. She currently advises several AI-driven healthcare startups and serves on the boards of Segmed, an AI radiology platform, and Genesis Research, a real-world evidence and health economics firm.

This fall, Ho releases her latest book, Rushing Headlong: Health IT’s Legacy and the Road to Responsible AI, which explores the evolution of health IT and the promise of generative AI in healthcare. The book reflects her deep understanding of the intersection between policy, data, and technology, and calls for intentional, responsible innovation to improve population health and accelerate scientific discovery.

Dr. Ho will be a featured speaker at the next Association of Alumni in Medicine (AYAM) meeting in New Haven in February 2026.
