We are excited to share that a unique and growing community of startup entrepreneurs who are alumni, alumni affiliates, and friends of Yale School of Medicine (YSM) and Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) exists. If you are a startup entrepreneur, we invite you to join! This community, now 18 strong, is unique because its members not only aim to significantly grow their businesses but also wish to give back to YSM or YSPH through philanthropy one day.
These entrepreneurs lead cutting-edge startups that are in various stages of business development—ventures focused on interatrial shunting for heart failure and pulmonary arterial hypertension; healthspan and longevity; precision psychiatry; human cells and hydrogels for regenerative medicine and microphysiological systems; and healthcare decision technologies, to name a few areas.
It is incredibly encouraging to see such strong entrepreneurial spirit among YSM and YSPH alumni, alumni affiliates, and friends.
YSM’s Office of Development and Alumni Affairs spearheaded the creation of this group by launching the initiative Founders Pledge at Yale School of Medicine and Yale School of Public Health. To learn more about our Founders Pledge initiative and its members, visit our Founders Pledge website and the Meet the Members page.
We extend special thanks to our eight inaugural members of Founders Pledge: Richard Awdeh, MD; Sobin Chang, MPH; Randy Cheung, MPH; Neal Eigler, MD; Donald Ingber, MD, PhD; Mitesh Rao, MD; Michael Singer, MD, PhD; and Anil Vedula, MD. Please explore their companies via the links provided on the Meet the Members page.
Members of Founders Pledge have an opportunity to connect via both virtual and in-person gatherings. And, throughout the year, we keep members apprised of positive news related to all the members’ companies. We are always considering new ways to engage members with each other, with students, and with Yale.
Interested in learning more? Joining? We hope so! Visit the Founders Pledge website and click on either the “Learn More” or “Make the Pledge” links. Or contact Pamela Hartley, associate director of development initiatives, at founderspledge@yale.edu to schedule a time to meet and learn more.
We look forward to hearing from you.
