Celebrating 90 Years of the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine

May 07, 2019

The Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine (YJBM) is celebrating 90 years of continuous publication. Founded in 1928 by Milton C. Winternitz, MD,YJBM is the oldest medical student-run publication in the U.S. and the only one to be indexed on PubMed. Originally intended to showcase student research theses, YJBM has grown to be a peer-reviewed, internationally ranked journal aimed at featuring outstanding research in all areas of biology and medicine.

YJBM is commemorating this milestone with a colloquium on May 31 from 1 to 3 p.m. featuring talks by Tamas Horvath, DVM, PhD, and Christopher van Dyck, MD. There will also be an exhibit from May 30 to August 16 in the rotunda of the Harvey Cushing/John Jay Whitney Medical Library that will showcase the journal’s historical archives and photographs.
