• Professor Joan Monin’sresearch examines how emotional processes affect health in older adult relationships by combining survey methods and laboratory experiments to understand the mechanisms (e.g. emotional contagion, cardiovascular reactivity) and moderators (gender, individual differences in attachment) involved in these processes. She is currently studying how exposure to a loved one’s suffering affects the physical and psychological health of older adult caregivers. 
• Professor Melinda Irwin's research involves examining the effect of exercise and weight loss on cancer prognosis. She is currently the principal investigator on a randomized clinical trial among women with breast cancer designed to investigate the effect of exercise on breast cancer prognosis and a trial of the effects of exercise on survival and survivorship in women with ovarian cancer.  Photo credit: Peter Baker
• Anna Zonderman worked with researchers from the Anna Freud Centre to implement a longitudinal electroencephalography (EEG) study in collaboration with Kids Company, a charity that provides practical and therapeutic support to vulnerable children in London. The study—which complements existing evidence that Kids Company’s interventions positively influence behavioral outcomes among participating children—will evaluate the effects of stress on neural functioning in 13- to 17-year-old boys and assess whether support from Kids Company correlates with positive changes in these effects over time. • As part of a health initiative in New Haven, surveyors interviewed city residents about their health and health habits. 
• CARE staff provide information on diabetes as part of Diabetes Awareness Day. 
• Professor Gupta (right) in Cote d'Ivoire, where she is leading a randomized community intervention that investigates the roles of economic programming and gender dialogue groups in reducing gender-based violence against women and improving economic well-being. This work is being conducted in partnership with the International Rescue Committee and Innovations for Poverty Action and is funded by the World Bank. 
• A wide-ranging exhibit at the Yale Peabody Museum (co-curated by the Community Alliance for Research and Engagement) focusses on the food challenges of the 21st century, including changing eating habits and alarming levels of obesity.
