Fogarty International Center Grants at YSPH

NIH's John Fogarty International Center  sponsors research training grants that provide funding to train researchers, building sustainable expertise in low-and middle-income countries. Over the life of these grants, over 200 public health professionals and researchers have received mentorship and training from Yale’s world class faculty. 

Global Health Equity Scholars Program

The GHES Program supports one-year research training of post and predoctoral fellows at 12 partnering international institutions. The goal of the program is to generate a new and young cadre of global health researchers, educators and professionals from diverse disciplines to address health needs and promote social equity. A major focus of the program is the health challenges which have emerged due to the rapid growth of slum settlements in both urban and rural settings of low and middle-income countries.

To assist with capacity building of faculty and public health research, a partnership between the Bhutan Foundation and YSPH to facilitate faculty and student exchanges.


Yale University and the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA)

This partnership with the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), also known in the past as the Chinese State FDA (sFDA), provides training in the area of regulatory affairs (RA) to future CFDA leaders at the central Beijing office and all of its Chinese provincial offices. The program was developed in 2007 by YSPH faculty member and Program Director, Dr. Robert Makuch, and the Deputy Commissioner of the sFDA in recognition of China’s rapidly expanding pharmaceutical market, ongoing food safety issues and recognition by sFDA senior leadership of the importance of meeting worldwide regulatory standards for ensuring public health.
