Billy Bromage received his Master in Social Work degree, with a concentration in Community Organizing, from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work in 2012. He has been working in the fields of community development and food assistance for over 15 years. He has been with CARE since 2010. He works as a community organizer, developing projects with grassroots leaders, nonprofit organizations, city and state government officials, and other civic leaders to address health in three low-income New Haven neighborhoods. He has been a partner in developing community gardens, farmers’ markets, outdoor physical activities, neighborhood health, and door-to-door canvassing campaigns. As a central component of this work, he has also supported and helped to develop coalitions to sustain community-level health initiatives.
