Dan Weinberger is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health. He received his PhD in biological sciences from Harvard School of Public Health and did a postdoctoral fellowship in the Division of International Epidemiology and Population Studies at the NIH's Fogarty International Center. His research interests revolve around bacterial evolution, bacterial-viral co-infections, and the development of novel tools to monitor vaccine impacts.
PROJECT: Pneumonia remains an important cause of disease worldwide. Dr. Weinberger will evaluate the etiology of respiratory infections among children in a slum community in Salvador, Brazil.
