Departments & Organizations

Yale Center for Analytical Sciences (YCAS)

Biography

Dr. Stolar earned her PhD in Public Health (Biostatistics) at Yale in 2003, focusing her studies on statistical methodology for Psychiatric Epidemiology (e.g. family studies), and for HIV-AIDS research. This was followed by several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry that included Clinical Pharmacology, early phase Neuroscience drug development, safety reporting, and development and analysis of Patient Reported Outcome measures. Dr. Stolar returned to the Yale School of Public Health in 2013 to pursue research and methodological interests as a member of the Yale Center for Analytical Sciences.

Her primary interests include the application of latent variable modeling to clinical and public health research, methods and models for multivariate outcomes, and the analysis of longitudinal and/or clustered data. Her approach to the practice of learning from data is to integrate ‘person-centered’ statistical methods (to elucidate subject heterogeneity) with ‘variable-centered’ methods (for specifying relationships among measures and attributes).
