Dr. Xiaofeng Bi

Dr. Bi is from the Cancer Hospital & Institute of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing and joined our training program on February 1, 2010. Dr. Bi has been studying epidemiological methods by working with Professors Tongzhang Zheng, Yawei Zhang, and Theodore Holford at the Yale School of Public Health, particularly in the area of descriptive epidemiology and biostatistics which will be very useful in conducting our trainee oriented research, Daqing Cohort Study. Using the SEER data from the United States, Dr. Bi and his mentors have worked on a study of risk of breast cancer and other hormone related cancer after diagnosis thyroid cancer in the US. Dr. Bi also has audited several courses offered at the Yale School of Public Health.

Mr. Le Wang

Mr. Wang is from the Cancer Hospital & Institute of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing and was in residence in New Haven from February 2010 until August 2010. He trained in environmental epidemiology with Drs. Zheng, Zhang and Holford at the Yale School of Public Health, particularly in the area of cancer epidemiology and biostatistics. Mr. Wang was involved in our current on-going case-control studies of testicular cancer and thyroid cancer. He also audited several courses offered at the Yale School of Public Health

Dr. Dongsheng Pan

Dr. Pan is from the Gansu Provincial Tumor Hospital, city of Lanzhou. Dr. Pan joined the training program in April 1, 2010 and will return to China on January 1, 2011. Dr. Pan has been studying epidemiological methods by working with Professors Yawei Zhang, Tongzhang Zheng, and Theodore Holford at the Yale School of Public Health, particularly in the area of cancer epidemiology and biostatistics which will be very useful in conducting cancer etiology study in Gansu Province, where has the highest incidence rate of cancer of the lung, esophagus, stomach, and breast. Using the SEER data from United States, Dr. Pan and his mentors are working on a descriptive epidemiological study of secondary cancer after diagnosis of thyroid cancer in the US. Dr. Pan audited several courses offered at the Yale School of Public Health.

Dr. Gongjian Zhu

Dr. Zhu is from the Gansu Provincial Academy of Medical Science, city of Lanzhou. Dr. Zhu joined the training program in April 1, 2010 and will return to China on January 1, 2011. Dr. Zhu has studied molecular epidemiological methods by working with Professors Herbert Yu, Yawei Zhang, and Tongzhang Zheng at the Yale School of Public Health, particularly in the area of cancer epidemiology, genetic and epigenetic biomarkers which will be very useful in conducting translational cancer research in China. Using tissue samples from Yale's tumor repository, Dr. Zhu and his mentors are working on a study to identify epigenetic markers related to thyroid cancer in Connecticut. Dr. Zhu is also auditing several courses offered at the Yale School of Public Health.
