Research Summary

Dr. Calvocoressi’s primary research interests are in cancer epidemiology and prevention. Past projects include participation in a multisite study that examined the impact of genetic and environmental factors on the development of meningiomas, and investigation of factors influencing mammography screening in diverse populations. Dr. Calvocoressi is currently collaborating with the Clinical Epidemiology Research Center at the Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System where her work focuses on prostate cancer. Studies, currently in the planning stage, include developing models to better predict cancer trajectories, and creating support tools to aid physician- and patient-level decisions regarding treatment options

Dr. Calvocoressi is also the primary developer of the Family Accommodation Scale, an interviewer-rated instrument used worldwide in research and clinical practice to assess the behaviors of family members of patients with obsessive compulsive disorder. She and her colleagues have also developed a self-rated version of the instrument (FAS-SR) and a patient-rated version (FAS-PV).
